Hey all.

I've been on the dianette pill for a few years now, prescribed by my doctor to clear up some spots but I also use it for contraception.

I kept missing my 7 day breaks and just been taking my packs continuously for a few months skipping my periods, but about a month ago I started getting some spotting. I knew straight away that this was because of not taking my pills properly so I decided to have my next break which was 3 weeks later. I had a normal period this week lasting 4 days, and then it cleared up, but today as soon as I got out the shower and got dressed, I noticed a bit of spotting again and it wasn't like a period, it was the same spotting I'v had for 3 weeks before.
I'm meant to start taking my pill from the next pack tomorrow morning.

I am just wondering what I should do to stop the spotting? How long will it take, or will it just go eventually?

Thanks for your time :)

I had a similar problem, I used to skip the non active pills so I didn't get my period, then after a while I would get spotting.
It was just my body letting me know that it had been too long since I had a period.

If you are worried or the bleeding becomes heavy or lasts for any longer go to your doctor for a check up :)

Okay thank you Shaza :)

The bleeding hasn't become heavy, its just random light spotting, and its quite annoying too cos sometimes I think its stopped then it comes back after a day.

Did yours just go away eventually? How long did the bleeding last? Do you think I should still carry on taking my pill from tomorrow? I'd rather not stop taking it, I'm hoping it will just clear up soon.

Thanks again.

I ended up not taking mine for about 2 months before I restarted. That fixed the problem for me.
You could try to just keep taking them and make sure you don't skip the non active tablets for a while to get things regular again :)
