Hi, I live in Florida and am looking for a group who get together that teaches people about their psychic gifts, how to understand them and how to develop them further. The women in my family both sides have different gifts . My aunt was born with a veil covering her face and was quite psychic. My mom has lost her ability really but I think she is going into stages of alzheimers. My sister, her daughter, and I all have different gifts but some are the same as well. Dreams, seeing spirits, premonitions, astral travelling, etc etc etc... we seem to have lots of things going on but need information to really understand how to control it. We would like to find a group here locally to get involved with. I had known of one years ago but I had moved out of state and now since returned can not find it anymore. Anyone?

I don't live anywhere near Fla.
But from what I have learned about controlling psychic. You really can't control it.
I have found the more simplified your life is the more you can get in tune with your inner psychic.
When you aren't always thinking and running and letting others treat you like a door mat
Instead of always feeling like
'I have to this and then I have to that' you can pay more attention to following your inner psychic.
When you eat healthier and don't over eat you don't feel so sluggish and that can help you feel more in tune.
Also learn to listen to your inner voice rather than your head. Like if you are going down the street and something tells you don't go that way / go that way do it.

There are many resources for learning to control paranormal abilities. Unfortunately, I don't live in Florida. Have you tried looking up various paranormal phrases (psychic, pagan (while technically a religious term, psychic phenomena are studied in many pagan religions), magick, occult, metaphysical) along with your state or city name? For example, I've found a pagan events calendar for my city. Also check for any metaphysical stores in your area. The owners of these shops are usually very in-the-know, and can show you multiple paths you may choose to follow to learn more about your gifts.

Also consider online communities. Websites like Covenspace are for socializing with people of ALL religions, not just Wiccans or Pagans, but for those "on the path," and the people there are always welcoming to newcomers. If you would like to seriously consider what most would call paranormal, you might want to check out general Wizardry.

I attend the online Grey School of Wizardry, formed and taught by many leading "wizards" of today. It is a registered non-profit organization in California, organizes conclaves all around the US, and is completely nonreligious. There *is* a yearly tuition fee, but this is the community that helped me find my place in the metaphysical. They teach classes on divination, dream interpretation, kinesis, ceremonial rituals, alchemy, and much more.

I felt lonely when I first started studying the occult, but GSW brought me into the broad world of open-minded metaphysical study. While "psychic" activity is only a part of our studies, it's all part of the collected world of the paranormal.

There are lots of communities out there just waiting for you. Try starting with the internet like you already have, and see where it takes you! :)

Thank you for this. I also found out a place near me called cassedega have a church here and will help me to get it under control; and be able to live with it . They are a community of psychics, wiccans, etc etc.. they were in the news a lot back in the 90's due to the neighbors wanted to burn them down! Unbelivable crazys (the neighbors) I do go there for cleansings but didn't know they offered this training, teaching. It is a about an hour away so I will look further into what you gave me to find something local. Thank you! Oh and my dad was a wizard. I'm from South Dakota originally and my best friends mom was a white witch, what a way things come around in life. I hadn't known they knew each other back then. But they have a coven there in the black hills and was thinking of joining but got scared. I was told by cassedega that I didn't need that anyway. They told me that the spells are like tools to get what is wanted? And I already have what is wanted. OK now I want" to know how to control it. Haha thanks again and nice to meet you!
