Am a really old adolescent (50) who really wants to meet someone of value. Have dated
superficially for years (nothing in common, carrying the phone waiting for his call... )
Don't really know the first thing about functional dating.
How do one start??
Had a baby in December and now I want to date in hopes of an eventual "loving" marriage.
Have I babbled:eek: long enough?

You could try some dating sites.
I know there is a bad stigma around them but my partneres mother met a really great man on there, they have been together for a few years now :)

You just had a baby in December, congratulations so did I, so what between you and the child's mother?

What and where are you doing and going to meet females?

I had a baby girl in December, weht though IVF so there is no man involved.
Wish there was a man involved... it is kind of lonely.

Oh, I thought you was a guy, sorry.

Still Congratulations!

I hear eHarmony #1 Trusted Singles Dating Site - Go Beyond "Traditional" Online Dating (http://www.eharmony.com) was a good site that is where my uncle met his wife.

Also, have you tried speed dating? That can be fun and it is different and you never know who you might meet.

Since you mention being a single parent there is the association parents without partners.A meeting place for single parents. It is a type of support group but they have activities and outings and such.It is also a social network.
Parents Without Partners (http://www.parentswithoutpartners.org/)
You could also take some classes, where you will meet like minded people.
Volunteering is a great way to make new connections.
Best of luck!

How did you manage to go through IVF when you're single and 50?
