The roommate that I have is disturbing the building. My landlord said he's been getting a lot of complaints. She's inviting people to the apartment all times of the night. She's using and selling illegal substances. I called the police but they said it's nothng they can do because nothing was in eye view and they could not smell it. Please tell me what steps I have to take to get her out of my apartment. Her name is not on my least and she's only been there three months.

Hello E:

Who pays her rent isn't part of the equation. It's what she does to violate the lease that is.

Yes, even though nothing is signed, you and she have a month to month rental agreement. If she's selling illegal substances, she's in violation of that agreement. File for an immediate eviction in your housing or small claims court.

We have a copy of your states landlord tenant laws at the top of the real estate page on a sticky note. Go read them, and they'll instruct you exactly HOW to evict her.
