Whatever you do, don't take what wikipedia says as fact. It's fun reading and a good starting point, but always, always, ALWAYS research it!

I agree wikapedia and snopes is more opinion than people realize but doing a websearch you can find a lot of good stuff.

There are many documentaries on dvd, that will show you in detail eygyption history.

Much more entertaining and not as tedious.

You can then visit the library armed with a little general knowledge of what specifically you are looking for.
