Not sure of Texas Laws. But if arrested in Texas for theft under $150.00. Never been in any kind of trouble before, including traffic tickets. I am 24. Do you have to hire an attorney? Is there a likelihood you can get deferred judification? It was a total lapse of judgement, due to money stress.

Anytime you are arrested and facing any kind of jail time, get an attorney. If you think you can successfully represent yourself and somehow get a deferred judgment, you must be in lala land. Ain't going to happen. Sorry. You will need an attorney to successfully negotiate such a deal as the DA won't "deal" with you as an individual.
