Hi,
When we were running windows 98, I could hide "Network Neighborhood" with Policy Editor, with the idea being that I didn't want users to go exploring around the LAN. Office 2000 in the "Save As" window does not show "Network Neighborhood" icons in Win98, so things were pretty secure in windows 98 vis-à-vis "Network Neighborhood".
However, under Windows 2000, even after I've loaded TweekUI and hidden the Icon from the desktop, Office 2000 Aps, in their "Save As", displays a "My Network Places" icon which lets me roam around the LAN, looking for shared folders and whatever. Is there a way to hide "My Network Places" in windows 2000 "Save As" windows??

Thanks for any help!!
Dave

David, yes you can either by (1) disabling the NetBIOS over TCP/IP property of MY NETWORK PLACES or (2) by modifying the setting in the registry:

For method 1, go to here:

http://comp.bio.uci.edu/security/netbios.htm

For method 2,

Because editing the registry is somewhat tricky and risky, I do not want to take all the risk for showing you, but I will show you the link that will tell you how at:

Please. Read DISCLAIMER at bottom of link before editing it.

Or, try this site:

Or try another software besides TWEAKUI at
