I am pregnant with another mans child and will deliver soon. Can I put this other man on my child's birth certificate. What do I need to do this. Does the man I am married to have to sign something saying this child isn't his. He knows it is not. It has never been a secret. Please tell me what I have to do to get the correct father on babies birth record.

You don't not need to put any name on the Birth Certificate at all hon. You may leave it blank.


Realistically, you should not put the name of a man that you know is NOT the father.

Another thing is that your husband may be responsible for this child regardless of who the bio dad is unless the bio dad challenges it because your still married and from the sounds of it haven't filed anything with the courts.

First, a birth certificate is a legal document. Its not a good idea to falsify a legal document. If you don't list anyone, then your legal husband will be assumed to be the father and this may be more difficult to change later.
