I very rarely get to see the child and Im wanting to take the whole thing to court. But the thing is, I don't know how I'm supposed to prove I have done nothing wrong because she will try everything to stop me having access. She is known as a really big liar and she has the support of her friends and family even if what she says is not true. I just want to be able to have proper legal access to my daughter. And I am not prepared to walk away from my child. I will fight her mother through court to the death if I have to. Please help me. Im only seventeen. I just want this all sorted as soon as possible. Just make sure that you request visitation and joint custody, because that's not included in your child support case paying support for the child. You should be the one to open up the case against her and not the other way around. At least that way you are letting them that you want what's best & you want to be a part of your daughters life as well.

Well I do intend to the case but what if she starts coming off with things that are not true about me. Because her friends and her family will agree with her and support her on what she says even she is lying.

You are going to need a lawyer and your going to need to establish yourself as the legal father of the child. You can't do this without one because your 17. You need to ask for visitation and there will be an order for support too. Are you still in school ? Because of your age you may qualify for legal aid. What state is this in ?

You need to read things at this site. Plus it has numbers you can contact for help. The basics of it is that according to irish law because you were unwed at the time the mother gets full custody of the child. But you can apply for " access " ( i.e. visitation)

Ive just read through the site you gave me. I think it basically means I wouldn't get custody of the child but she can't stop me from having access to the child

That's correct in the way I read it too. And really that's what your looking for is access. The ability to participate in your child's life.

Yeah. Well I can say I'm a lot less confused now after talking to you. I think Il be a lot more confident in taking this to a solicitor now. Il let you know what happens when I find out. Thanks
