Hey all. I live in southwest Florida, and I'm almost a senior in high school. I really need to start thinking about college, but I feel so overwhelmed and nervous. I've decided I want to go to school for herbology, but I have no idea where to go from here. I am so shy and I struggle with change, so going to college is going to be a very big step. I was wondering if anyone knew which college in Florida would be the best to attend for this type of career. I get good grades and work hard, so I at least might stand a chance of getting in to colleges. I have above a 4.0 GPA, so if you could help me figure this out, or tell me about your experiences when you left for college, I'd appreciate it. Thanks :]

Selecting a college is a decision that combines the academic side and the social/cultural side - unfortunately they sometimes don't mix. Which of the two colleges has the program you want? Which has the best rated program? You can't go to a school that doesn't offer what you want as a major.

The second factor is one that really requires you to visit both schools and look at dorms and get a feel. Gainesville is closer to you, but FSU has about as many southwest Florida kids. I have three degrees from FSU but my daughter played for the Gators for FGSU didn't even have her major.
