It just started about an hour ago my vaginal area is just burning like no other!! I am going to try and go to the doctor tomorrow but for now does anyone know of any good over the counter meds that can help with a UTI my mom used to work in a nursing home and my mother-in-law is a CNA and they said that it sounds like I have a UTI so I'm sure that is what it is. Please can someone tell me anything to stop the burning?

This information seems sound:

How to Treat a Urinary Tract Infection - wikiHow (http://www.wikihow.com/Treat-a-Urinary-Tract-Infection)

I'll add: Cut out simple sugar, coffee, hot chocolate, chocolate.

Drink Cranberry juice and water especially like there I no tomorrow. Just don't drown.

It's important to wear clothing that breathes. Sleep with a night shirt and no undies.

If it turns out to be recurrent, figure out how to change your Hygean (spelling?) habits.

I don't know if they have these in America but here we have a product called "ural" they are sachets of white powder that you disolve in water and drink.
It makes your urine more alkaline and decreses the burning, I used to get them regularly and whenever I felt on coming on I drank that a few times and it never turned into a full blown infection.
