Hi again.. Since the last time you helped us out we have installed a router and everything is tickety-boo with the reception upstairs in my son's apartment. It was he that you were mainly in contact with as I am in the remedial class when it comes to the gubbins of computers. The problem that I have now is that either I have become suddenly unloved or my Outlook Express (which was linked to Wanadoo Broadband )has packed up receiving since we put the said router in. Is there anything that you can suggest to remedy this viz. altering settings? If you do get back please type slowly and in capitals as I am a REAL novice. Cheers Lampwick Snr.

Welll first off dump Outlook Express as it sucks ;)
Get yourself a decent e-mail app like Thunderbird, available Here (http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/).
Could you let us know what error messages you get when you try to do a send/receive, that'll help a great deal.
It maybe be one of the account settings that have gone for a burton or a setting on your router may need changing.

Note: we don't need all the 0x6499274 type stuff, the readable bits will be great

What happens is every time I open up Outlook it says 'No new messages'. Sometimes the dialup thingy ( not too technical, am I?) comes up with the old Wanadoo address and says that it's unable to connect.

You need to check your connection tab in OE to ensure it isn't trying to "dial" out.
You want to set it to use the network, just like your Internet Explorer does.

Hope this points you in the right direction.

Should my connector be set to Broadband or Wanadoo Broadband?

Bear with me as I haven't used OE in years.
It should just be a simple case of unchecking the "always connect" box and it will use the default setting in IE.
If not could you let us know what is available in the dropdown box.

I have Broadband Connection.. Dial up connection... Local Area connection... Wanadoo and Wanadoo Broadband. As I have unplugged the Wanadoo modem does this cancel the last 2 out as connectors?

Out of those you want Local Area Connection, i.e. your router.

Try unchecking the box, may be more quick ;)
