You know to go to a doctor.
It could be a simple hormonal imbalance.
This is not okay, you need to have this checked and treated.
Good luck.

How old's your child?
It isn't uncommon for women who have given birth recently to have heavy or unusual menstruation, however, it seems that you're bleeding profusely, so I would agree with Alty and go see your obgyn and bring it up.

It could also be a sign of low iron. I had my period for 4 weeks, I was like a Niagra Falls.
Don't be dumb like me where I was so dizzy I couldn't hold a fork.
Go to your nearest walk in clinic tomorrow, the ER or an emergency appointment with your doctor.

Actually, unless she's feeling other symptoms, a trip to the ER may be useless. Heavy bleeding isn't uncommon after birth, although this specific case seems to be somewhat more to the extreme.
It's good to make a doc's appointment as soon as possible, however, a trip to the ER (especially if you live in the US) may not be very helpful (and expensive)

Very true Sneezy- but it's always best to know- maybe not the ER but a trip to the walk in clinic would be a good thing.

She is soaking a pad less then an hour or close to an hour. That means she needs to make a trip to the ER.
