Did you put a jumper from rh to rc at the t-stat?

You say the outdoor unit comes on but not the indoor blower?

banger

OK sounds like you have a bad cooling fan relay. At you furnace. Does your furnace have a control board in the blower compartment?

Joshdta
Apr 25, 2009, 12:13 PM
OK sounds like it is wired right. I think the problem is going to be at your furnace

With heat an cool off the fan does not come on with it turned on to fan

Joshdta

The you either have a bad fan relay at your furnace. Or the green wire is broke or not touching at the t-stat. I would check the green wire at the stat first

banger
Apr 25, 2009, 12:19 PM
OK I will do that

Joshdta
Apr 25, 2009, 12:23 PM
If that is not the problem we can go from there.

banger
Apr 25, 2009, 12:25 PM
Well it must be the fan relay unless like you said the wire is broke somewhere where I can't see it

banger
Apr 25, 2009, 12:26 PM
But the furnace worked all winter long

Joshdta

If the green is not hooked or broke at the t-stat it only messes the fan up in the ac mode. The fan is controlled by the furnace in the heat mode.

So its either a bad relay or the wire is broke right

Joshdta
Apr 25, 2009, 12:43 PM
Yea, did you check you green connection at the t-stat?

banger
Apr 25, 2009, 12:44 PM
Yes it is connected

Joshdta
Apr 25, 2009, 12:49 PM
OK one other thing you can try is to take the t-sta off and jump between r and g and see if it comes on. If it still does not then it is most likely a bad relay and you will most likely need a new fan control board.

OK thanks for your help I appreciate it

No problem. Also. To get cooling for now. You may be able to switch the cool wire on the control board to eac which is a different relay.

The control board should be in the bottom door of your furnace. And the cooling wire should be black and hooked where it says cool on the control. Turn the power off and move it to eac and see if that works. It will not work for ever that way but will keep you cool till you get a new control
