If you did something when you were a child and got caught for it when you were an adult, can it be placed on your juvenile record?

Just an Example; A child is nine years old and they start a huge forest fire. At twenty three years old they go through a background for a police department, and admit to the fire because of honesty. They get turned down from the department, and an investigation is performed. Nothing can be proved, but the investigating officer says that he is placing it in their juvinile file. Is that possible? No conviction, No Proof, just someone admitting wrong to be honest, and it goes into a juvenile file?

First "file" they will place it in the police file in that department, and I guess can send a copy to juv services.

But what do you mean they could not "prove it" the person confessed, does not need much more evidence. But I would say the SOL would be over and nothing could be done anyway.

Every crime has a statue of limitation except murder. So arson may be 7 years. So 7 years after the crime, even if they prove it was you, they can't charge you with it.

** not sure of the SOL on that crime in your state but there would be one So after 13 years, here are few crimes that could be prosecuted even if they found out who did it.
