Does anyone know of a federal grant program that a Black woman, 53 years old, close to retirement may qualify for that has no money to pay the IRS, make home repairs or fix her car. I have a full time job. I own my home with my two sisters and two nieces. So I don't have the ability to mortgage it. The IRS has a lien on the house and a tax levy on my paycheck. I am also being garnished for a bill. Have three payday loans and I'm drowning. I live in the State of Virginia.

The earliest you could retire would be at age 62 and that would not help your financial picture at all.

If you do own your own home with 4 other people, do they all live in this home with you? If so, I think they should start contributing more to the household needs financially.

They don't live in the house with me. They all have their own homes in other states. One in VA, two in CA and one in MI.

There are no grants, and most grants to help fix homes are for the elderly and/or disabled, and they are normally local in nature.
* check with a couple real estate companies they will normally know

! Your trouble is budget and/or income. Stop any and all pay day loans, they will only get you deeper in debt. Work out what your bills are and pay the important ones first. Consider getting a part time job if needed.
