If the rape was a result of child abuse the statutes are different as many children do not recall the trauma until later in life.
The laws have been amended to give the abused a wider window to remember and report the crime,in some states.
In essence the SOL is different in depending on the nature of the sexual offense.
Child sexual abuse is being given a longer SOL.

Before we get into a big discussion on this it is now your DAUGHTER'S choice to press charges for statutory rape. It is no longer your decision.

I don't think the Police will take the report nor do I think the DA will act on it after 15 years.

Was paternity proven at the time the child was born? Is there an acknowledged father or an alleged father?
