I am a 25 year old female with a 4 1/2 month old son. His biological father was the perfect father-to-be until we moved out of state during the pregnancy. He found another female that caught his eye, so he cheated on me and left me when I was 9 months pregnant to be with her. His family was so apologetic for his behavior and offered their assistance. They also promised to visit. The baby's father and I had maintained contact. He ended up coming to the labor and delivery room but made an excuse to leave after a few hours and complained he didn't have the gas to come back. When I offered to pay his gas for him to be there, he mumbled an excuse and turned off the phone. I don't know about other states but here in FL in order for a father's name to be on the birth certificate he needs to be there to sign, for verification purposes I assume. Well needless to say he never made it in time to sign the birth certificate, stating gas issues once again. I did give the baby his last name because I feel that its just not right to punish his family for his actions. I left Orlando to move three hours south. Well I went to file for child support, he provided me with all the information I needed, knowing full well that they would come after him for child support, even though he wasn't working at the time. I received a letter in the mail from CSE stating that my son and I needed to appear for a paternity test and that the "accused" father would have to do the same, unless he signed an acknowledgment of paternity. Well he didn't do either, he didn't sign anything nor did he show up for his paternity test. He has never seen his son and even when I offered to bring him for the three hour drive to see him, two days prior he called and canceled. His girlfriend recently kicked him out and I now have no way to contact him other than myspace and he doesn't respond to any message I send. How can I go about getting him to pay when he has the ability to drop off the radar at a moments notice? His license is already suspended for a past due ticket, he doesn't have a job, nor does he have a residence for me to let CSE know about. He's the ultimate deadbeat dad, what can I do?

Correct. These are the ways to establish legal paternity.

He has to be adjudicated as the father by default. I wonder why it did not happen.First-be sure than he was recognized as the father.
Contact CSE and let them to find him.
