I am looking for something to raise platelet count. Chemo due last week, platelet count too low. Doc said wait a week. Now, platelet count even lower... Searched web and found a plethora of products, natural and some not-so-natural, all claiming to do this for me, but... what works rather quickly in someone with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) waiting for a chemo 3-drug cocktail?? Somebody please help, and thanks so much. Want to take vacation scheduled in two weeks, but if no chemo, no vaca...

I am sorry about your situation but I think if there were any safe method of raising your platelet count you doctor would be doing it.

Herbal remedies are medicine without all the trappings, you must be very cautious when using them, especially in your delicate condition and before the administration of chemo, in particular.

Best of luck to you.

I think you should not dabble with herbs, in your condition.
There are some situations where you can and some other situations where you shouldn't, use herbs alongside ongoing chemotherapy.

There are many claims I have seen on the internet, from companies marketing various combinations of rehmannia, astralagus, agrimonia, eclipta and other herbs.
But there doesn't seem to be much evidence that they give uniformly good results.

Please be cautious about using them.
