Does your daughter have other siblings? My 7-year-old stepdaughter didn't speak until she was over 2 years old because she had a bad case of "big brother" syndrome - her older brother would ask for what she wanted, rather than her asking for it herself.

Does your daughter speak at all? Have you had her tested for speech impairment?

My 25month old son refuses to talk. I know he can talk and hear and understand because he responds. But he just refuses to say words... he doesn't even attempt to form words. His pediatrician says there is nothing to worry about, but I just can't get him to speak. I constantly chat with him, he is always in the company of an adult who engages in conversation, but I have never seen him being interested in communicating or having conversations.

Should I assume he is a late bloomer or that is his personality type?

Is there any other approach I should follow?
