I changed oil in my 18.5 hp briggs engine,now oil comes out of fuel pump when mowing,oil was not over filled,engine runs fine,but leak continues .used 10w30 oil.appreciate any help ,thank you

Probably is a bad pump but B&S also says to use 30w. You can use 10w30 and even 5w30 but they warn you that oil usage will be up.

I ordered a new fuel pump for it,I'm thinking that the rubber diaphram inside is leaking.It's a sealed unit so I can't take it apart.engine runs normal so I can't think of anything else that could be bad .thanks for you response, den

Installed new fuel pump,same problem,oil ooses out of screen on front of fuel pump,engine still runs fine.have called sears,tried several forums,still no solution.eventually all oil will be gone from engine then the problem will be gone also.
