To Whom It May Concern:

My question is to make a long story short stopped making credit card payments and now was served papers yesterday to be in court on the 7th. Paper work is posted 4/10/09 say we have 30 days to respond or be in court on May 7th that's not 30 days but regardless we do not have the money to pay the money it is over $6000 with our income being cut back by almost half we are having a hard time keeping our house payment up and the utilities bills up so that they don't turn anything off. We do understand that we are not the only ones with this problem so hopefully you will be able to help. We are not saying that we don't owe just that can't afford to pay it what should we do please answer as soon as possible.

1. you may attempt to work out a payment plan with them before, but still show up with copy of the plan they approved

2. you show up and try to prove you don't owe the money, ( that is really your only defense)

3. you show up and lose, and find out that they will have a judgement against you.

** learn what they can and can't do in your state with a judgement, they may in most garnish a part of your pay check.
