I recently acquired a White Family Rotary sewing machine, in the cabinet. I'm trying to figure out approximately how old it is. I saw another reader that has a White sewing machine that the serial number is a 568xxx series, believed to be from about 1886. The serial number on mine is 121093. I plan on selling it. What are the professional's thoughts on replacing dinged up drawers, painting and refinishing? I know sometimes antiques are better in the condition time has left them in, but I believe this could have been better taken care of. The machine itself looks good, there are some accessories that look like they could be original equipment. The decorative paint on the sewing machine looks nice. I just want it to look nice for someone. I have some pictures if it would help a reader.
