My son and his lady have separated. They had a joint account at a Credit Union which they used to buy a couch.
When they separated, she stated she would keep the couch
And simply make those payments. She did not and now
The Credit Union wants my son to make the payments. I
Have heard one can place an ad in the newspaper stating
They are no longer responsible for debys incurred by (name)
After a specified date. He is screwed in THIS situation but
Would like to protect himself from other things she may
Try to stick him with. He is a full time college student so
Does not have the resources to make this payment. If
He DOES have to make these payments, can he take the
Couch?
