I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima. From time to time it won't start. I replaced the starter in July of 07. Today I had to make a stop and after coming back it just wouldn't start. I get the clicking noises from the starter. AAA roadside guy came by and said he would check the battery. He thought negative terminal was rather corroded and clean posts. I drove it 20.1 miles to work and figured maybe it needed a charge (but he said the voltage was fine) but it still won't start. I am going to do the alternator test once I get home. Does it matter whether I remove the positive or negative cable and if that passes what else could it be? Thanks

Clean battery terminals and cable connections. Remove and charge/replace the battery. Ensure cells are filled to the proper level--add distilled water, if necessary. Disconnect the negative battery cable first and reattach it last. This link may help:

The battery may be bad.
