I have 2 pugs, 2 1/2 year old brothers, Butch and the Kid. They both have occasional gas, but one has occasional wet gas: spots of a little wetness about the size of a penny. It smells metallic and stinky. Is there something I can do for him? Each pug has 2 baby carrots and 1/8 cup of Plain Cherrios for breakfast, 8 am, Then each has 1 cup of Purina dry food with a 1/2 small can (2.3 oz) of Mighty Dog food 1 pm each day. I give them each 1 long plain frozen french fry around 7pm, broken into 3 bite size pieces. At bedtime, 10 pm, they each get 12 Cherrios. This has been their routine diet for a year now. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Tawnya, Sumter, SC

Sounds like a clogged anal gland to me. It's very common in dogs, and when the gland releases, boy oh boy what a smell.
This gland usually produces a secretion whenever they poo, but at times, it can get clogged, infected, and gross.
It's really not hard to unclog the gland, but it's not fun, and you will probably vomit.
A vet can do this for you which is your best bet first time around. Also, it's best to have the vet confirm that this is indeed what is wrong with your dog.
I've posted a link with some info, and a step by step instruction guide on how to express anal glands, but once again, I must reiterate, plese see your vet first.

Good luck.

I did what you suggested, I got a little bit of discharge, but he still has the wet metallic smell expelling occasionally.
