I changed the ring gear on this older riding mower, put back on, only one way, with new key, only one way, and now it will not fire. It did once, started, and was so loud had to shut dowm immeadiatley. What did I do wrong? It s not worth a lot of money and none now, but cannot afford a new one, if could, you would not be getting question.

Is it seated all the way down?

I had the same prblem with my Murray 15. Horsepower ultra. The original ring wore out. I took off the flywheel, put on the new ring gear,
Installed the flywheel back on. I started it it ran for about 10 or 15 seconds and quit . Will not fire back up.
Were you able to solve your problem. What was the fix?

Did you gap the coil at .010 when you put it back on.
