Hi. Im 37 years old and at a normal weight. I started having moderate cramps 7 days before my period with occasional spotting. 2 days before my period the cramps became severe to the point of not being able to function. Then it got so bad I was faint, Dizzy, nauseating during the 3 days of my period. Now 4 days later after it stopped I am still hurting the same and cannot do much but take the tramadol I was prescribed with phenergan and cry. I feel pain on the cervix area (pinching sensations)and it just feels sore. I know I don't have an STD I just don't understand why the intense pain will not stop. Tramadol took the edge off a little but only for an hour and it was back. Ive tried every med you can think of from Ibuprofen to Midol to Naproxin Sodium. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week and Im worried. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Many times PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) will cause painful periods, before during and after.

How long has this been going on?

I had bad cramps from age 13 to age 18 and they completely stopped until 6 months ago. Cramps would start 3 days before and breasts sore 3 weeks out of the month but not this severe to where I couldn't function and it would stop the day I started menstruating.

Yes, I've taken motrin. Ive tried everything you can think of and nothing touches it. Only tramadol or hydrocodone works for 1-2 hours. Still cramps but it makes it a little more tolerable. Then it begins again.

Warm baths, heating pads. And keep that appt for the ultrasound. You may have ovarian cysts that are causing this pain.

Have you tried getting more exercise to reduce the cramps? It is supposed to help. It works for me. Your condition does sound very severe, but some little things can help reduce the pain. Try using a heating pad over your abdomen or fill a jar with warm water and hold it against the area you have pain.

I work out everyday until this started. Ive lost 102 lbs since December 08 worked out 2 hours a day but walking or trying to exercise now is just making me feel like fainting. Ive been soaking in a warm bath and that doesn't seem to help much. Ive begged my boyfriend to just knock me out. :rolleyes:It feels like labor pains constantly.

Is there a possibility you could be pregnant? Maybe with a tubal pregnancy?

No, I haven't had sex in months. The doc took a test and it was negative.
