I recently got caught trying to shoplift from a Canadian Tire, I was confronted by the cashier then ran out the door. I felt guilty so I returned to the same cashier 30 minutes later. She told me that she wasn't able to do anything but to talk to the customer service counter. I talked to the clerk there and was told that id have to talk to the manager, after apoligizing and agreeing to pay for the items I tried to steal he let me go. I used a debit card to re purchase the stolen goods. Will the store prosecute me even though I paid for the items and left without any punishment.

They may, and/or they may seek civil penalty ( you pay them more money)

So you talked to the manager, we were not there, what did he say he would do.

The manager just gave me a speal about shoplifting and how it affects everyone, I apoligized formally and offered to pay off the items. The manager had said that I was man enough to return. After repaying he left, just wondering will this follow me. Thanks
