My husband & I live in SC. My husband works in GA and I work in SC. We file taxes in both states every year. We were audited by SC this year and were told to pay an additional 5700.00 for the last 3 years. I took the taxes to the accountant to review and she states the GA forms are correct (We have had to pay additional taxes along with the withheld taxes from my husband's paycheck for the last 3 years). Is this correct to be double taxed on my husband's income by both state's?

What about the SC return? You should have claimed a credit for the GA taxes paid on your SC return.

I suspect that SC did not account for that because you may have failed to provide them a copy of the GA return.
