I have a 94 honda accord LX coupe manual. The speedometer stopped working and I had the speed sensor changed but it's still not working. The mechanic I took it to is now telling me that it's the instrument cluster. I paid for the sensor to be changed because he said that it was giving resistance and now he tells me something else. I don't want to buy and instrument cluster and have it changed for it still not to work. Does it sound like it could be the instrument cluster or maybe he just put in a bad part. How do I know without having to go and pay someone else?

Same thing happened in my 94 Accord. Changed the sensor and the speed/odometer would still do quit. Question: when your speedometer stops, does your odometer stop, too? If it does, I would seriously check into the instrument panel. However, if you have or can find a good auto electrician, he can obtain schematics from the internet and follow the wiring and sensors all the way back to the dash to rule out any of that. If it is the instrument panel (mine was), check junk yards for a used one. Way cheaper than buying new. Good luck!
