Is it possible to get pregnant if you have sex on your period about one or two days before your period is actually over?

"Just like every woman is different, so are her hormonal balances and hence her menstrual cycle. Though there are generalities on which some ground basics of menstruation and pregnancy can be formed, but eventually it all boils down to individual physiology. So, yes, you can get pregnant during your periods."

Check out that page, it clearly and accurately explains that discussion.

You can get pregnant at ANY time in your cycle.

Most women, however, do not ovulate during their period.

If you're trying NOT to get pregnant, I suggest using multiple forms of birth control or not having sex to begin with.

Thanks, that explains it, I went to the site, very informal

What if my period did stop after having sex? Is that a sign that conception may have occurred?

You're welcome!
I've seen that one thrown around here before (because this same question gets asked a lot) so I just re-used it.

I've had sex on my period before and it did "stop" my period. It's because during sex, your body experiences a large fluctuation in hormones. Plus all that action "speeds" up your period.

And, yes you can get pregnant.

Here is a website that may help you understand a little more:
If you have unprotected sex during your period, would your period stop if you got pregnant? (http://www.teenwire.com/ask/2001/as-20011126p318.php)

If your worried about pregnancy you can always request a blood test [they can detect it about 7-12 days from possible conception].

Is that a bad thing? That your period stops after sex?

No. I've had sex on my period many times and it has not damaged me in any sort of way. I know this also because I do see my gynecologist regularly and I also asked her.

They only bad thing about it is that it does get messy [ick!]

Here is yet another great site you might want to read up on:

I also joined this site:
My monthly cycles (http://www.mymonthlycycles.com/)

It's great because you get to keep track of your period and it sends you an email notification when your next period is coming.
