Hello, I have a Snapper lawn tractor ," lt 1833 hydro 18 hp". It kills the engine whenever I let the clutch out . Please help. It runs like a sewing machine up until I let the clutch out, it's like I hit a kill switch.

That's what I go for. A safety kill switch that has a bad ground. A seat ground to frame many times is a culprit for that. Check springs under seat for good grounding. The mower will run but in gear and clutch out and the mowers seat doesn't recognize a person in the seat in control it will shut down. Its usually all about the seat and body factor. The seat is usually the only way a mower knows someone is there to cut the grass and steer it.

I agree, it does sound like a safety swicth has failed. The switch under the seats fails most often and would cause your issue.

Thanks guys, It looks like it's the seat switch after all. A $6.00 part, I never get off that cheap!
