Hi,

Our head company is located in Sweeden and we are bringing someone over on a L1A Visa. What taxes is this person subject to, Federal, state local, but are they [U]also subject to Social Security and Medicare?

Need this ASAP, Thanks

My husband is on L 1 and my daughter and I are on L 2. Yes, you have to pay the ridiculous Social Security and Medicare, despite never receiving benefits.

Macaroona is correct. It's not fair, but it IS the law.

It is possible that you may receive credit under the Sweden version of Social Security, depending on the provisions of the U.S. - Sweden Tax Treaty.
