My father was adopted three days after he was born. I have severe health issues that do not run in my family. I would like to find my biological grandparents not only to answer the questions that I have for them, but also just to know who they are and in that who I am... So how do I find them?

Private adoption or State adoption? These records are almost always sealed.

Have you tried one of the sites where you post all the info you have and hope someone recognizes the info and contacts you?

Do you have the names of your birth parents or any other info?

You can do the following things:

1. Contact the adoption agency used. Explain that you have a medical condition, and want to leave contact information in case the biological parents are looking.

2. contact the courthouse in the county in which the adoption took place. Again, explain the medical condition, and that you'd like to leave a letter in the adoption file with your contact information in case the biological family comes looking.

3. You can register on reunion sites like adoption.com, adoption.org and ISSR.

4. You can hire a private detective.

Please be aware that the biological parents of your father may not want ANY contact from your father or his family. It may be a situation where no one else knows that there even WAS a child, and you or your father showing up could cause any number of problems in their lives. However, the medical condition is a good reason to get, if nothing else, non-identifying information about your medical background. Unfortunately, you will need to get a lawyer and go to court to get those records unsealed, and there is absolutely no guarantee that you WILL get them unsealed after fighting for it.
