I am 28 years old woman. It is about a week I have discovered a small (penny size) swollen node under my left ear. It has pain (specially when I tough it) but the pain is too much. I can not say if it is mobile or not as it is mstly inside (it is not visible, just when I touch it I feel it). At the same time my groin started to pain (mstly left side), I can not find any swollen node there. I am very woried about it as it is both in my neck and groin? I have an appointment next week, but could not wait till that time.
Thanks

You might have two issues going on. The gland below the ear might be the paratid gland. It generally secretes saliva. Parotid gland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parotid). Note whether sympoms increase when you eat (produce saliva). Note the production on salivia.

It's probably not the lymph system. Lymph node - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lymph_nodes)

None of us can make a diagnosis over the internet and I'm not attempting to. What I am attempting to show is the gland near the ear is likely the salivary gland and the locations of lymph nodes.

The "size of a penney" should have alarmed someone. You may need to see a throat specialist.

Thanks for your qick reply.
I have the same saliva as before. When I touch back of my ear I feel a litlle pain specially in the bone.
When I was 6 yrs I got mumps, so I think I should have immunity.
When I eat I feel pressure in both side of my jars (specially where they are attached to the face).
I am woried about cancer, (considering the both symptoms in groin and near the neck).
