I am looking at buying a new house and the one I'm seriously considering has forced air oil. I've been able to dig up a little info on the internet regarding how this works, but I can't find anything to tell me what this costs exactly. The home is about 2800 sq. ft, built in the 70's. I haven't had an inspection done so I'm not sure what the insulation is like just yet.

In my current home, we have an electric heat pump which does our heating and cooling and we've been happy with the output. If the oil is too expensive, I would consider converting to this type of heating and cooling. What costs would be involved in doing this?

What state are you in? Last year it was costing a average of $2900 to fill you oil tank. And I am sure the price is not going to be going that far down any time soon. I take it there is no natural gas on the property? To change to a electric heatpump operation the mane thing to look at is does the house have a 200 amp electric service with a 200 amp box with room for more breakers. Does the house have ac now?
