I had my hair heavily highlighted on Friday and it come out very blonde. I cryed I hated it so bad. Went to jcpenney salon and they foiled some brown in it and gave me a new cut. I felt wonderful on the way home I have major ocd about my hair. The reason I had it heavily highlighted at this place was to get copper red out. My natural is brown. After I went to jcpenney salon I went to my moms and she's like what's the difference. It hurt me so bad. My question is will it never go back that blonde color if I ve had some brown foiled in. I'm going to go to jcpenneys salon and gradually have more and more put in until I get my natural color back and cover my gray. I was happy now I'm sad. I loved my hair my husband could tell why couldn't she? I know it will fade. Will somebody help me. I still left some of that blonde in it just looked better with blonde and brown.:(:(

The brown will never completely fade, though it will fade and it will lighten somewhat.

I always tell people to wait 3 days no matter how bad they hate the color.

"Gradually" is actually a bad word in hair coloring. A lot of people think that hair "gets better" over time -- sort of heals. Many stylists will tell you to wait a week -- or two -- or more, and to condition a lot and then come back for more color. Or, they'll tell you that the best way to go blonde is gradually. In fact, nothing can be further from the truth.

Hair has no blood supply and the reactions that the body uses to cure or heal itself simply don't occur in the hair. Damage to the hair's chemical backbone isn't repairable. The new growth will grow in, and that won't be damaged, but damage caused by chemicals won't go away. If you keep damaging the hair, eventually the hair shaft will break. Hair can only take so much damage.

Also, in spite of claims to the contrary, conditioners or reconstructors don't actually rebuild anything in the hair. Their effect is temporary -- until the next shampoo or perhaps a few shampoos, if you're lucky. That's not to say that conditioners aren't important. They are! People who color their hair should always use conditioners. The conditioner makes the hair more pliable, less susceptible to abrasion and it also feels better. But, you have to use it every time.

Now, what difference does it make whether your mom likes your hair or not? You're a grown woman. You can decide for yourself what you like.

So, if you want to go back to brown, let me know and I'll tell you how to do it (I have to know how light your hair is now). If you wish to go back to blonde, let me know that also. Quite honestly, I'm going to suggest that you wait at least three days to decide.

I don't want it to be as blonde as it was it looked horrible. I didn't want it that blonde in the first place. I just want brown with blonde in it. And stay that way. They told me to get it retouched the brown every 4 weeks I have gray also. My mom is just a horrible person. She has always put me down.

If the color is OK now, then just get the roots retouched every 4 to 6 weeks. Less than 4 weeks is too often; more than 6 weeks is too infrequent (you end up with color bands). You can redo highlights on the roots every other touchup (every 12 weeks). That would be my recommendation.

Yea but I don't know what they mean my brown color fading they put in. I don't want to be all blonde. I'm crying over it. I don't want to wash my hair I'm afraid the color brown will come out and it will be frizzy fryed looking. My nerves are really bad.I don't want to put anymore blonde in it. :(
