View Full Version : Engine power down in Silverado 1500

I'm having problem with my 2001 chevy silverado 1500. After I start drive my truck for about an hour my truck suddenly start to jerk a little and then powers down some whether I'm going up hill or not. I hoping it not a transmission problem because I've that happen before in car that I had but it didn't react that way when it happened. I've dealt with problems like that in the past with other family member and friend vechiles that also had transmission problem and this problem I got doesn't fit the criteria. I've replaced the battery in my truck, fuel pump, filter, and oil filter, alternator is good and so is the starter the only I haven't done it replace my spark plugs and wires could this be the problem?

Yes, replace the platinum spark plugs (ACDelco only) with the exact plugs that came in the truck. Replace platinum plugs at least every 45,000 miles.

Once you solve the current problem, be sure to drop and clean the transmission pan, change the filter, and refill with ATF. I recommend Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, especially in trucks. Here's how:
