Hello,

I have a Maytag mdg4000bww gas dryer. The igniter glows and the gas remains lit for about 15 seconds and then the igniter turns off. This repeats itself every 70 seconds or so. I replaced the 2 coils and the flame sensor and the problem still occurs.

I had the same issue 8 months ago and replaced the coils and it rectified the issue.

Thanks,
Bill

WOCONNOR- the trouble may be in the thermostat oor the flame is out of adjustment:: or you may have a high temp protector going bad :: to check the flame on the burner: open the bottom panel so you csan see the flame::#1- if the flame is light blue and there is a roaring sound then it is getting too much air: #2- if the flame has yellow tips then it is not getting enough air:these improper mixtures lead to poor combustion and ineffient heating: #3- to correct the mixtures you will have to loosen the thumb screw on the air shutter and move it very slowly un till you have a flame that is light blue but does not have a roaring sound: retighten the thunb screw down again:: if the machine still works good : do no further work on it and call a gas appliance repairman : a gas burner can be so complex that it can be dangers: stay safe:: maybe I have helped you out >hope so :have a better day tomorrow and god bless ::f.b.e.
