Hi,

I was meant to start my first pill of my new pack Monday, march 16th. However I did not pick up my prescription until Tuesday night and so I started the pack Wednesday the 18th at my regular time. Usually when I forget a pill for a few hours I only bleed a little that same day, and then it goes away. Because I started the pack 2 days late, this did not happen at all, and instead I am now bleeding. It started the 26th, 9-10 days after taking the first pill Wednesday and missing Monday and Tuesday. My boyfriend and I had sex that Monday :( because I didn't know I wouldn't be able to get my prescription on time. My question is whether this bleeding is from implantation or just getting my period from the screwed up days. The bleeding was from the 26th until yesterday, and stopped completley today, so it lasted 4 days. It wasn't as heavy as a normal period but was definitely heavier than what is described as usual mplantation bleeding, and I had my normal period cramps. I really would like some sort of advice on this one, so I can have some sort of relief or just response. Thanks.

When starting the pill it does change your period quite a bit. This could be the result of that. However, since your on your first pack I suggest you use condoms as well or any other form of contraceptive to avoid pregnancy.

However, it is [I]always best to seek a physician for medical help.

Sorry mudweiser. I don't know if I clarified enough. I've been taking the pill for 4 months. This is my fifth. This was the beginning of my fifth pack and I started it two days late :(

Ahh.. okay. Well then.. What kind of pill are you taking? Is it a low-hormone, how many pills is there in a pack?

This info does matter because the hormones you are taking do make your body go crazy if used improperly.

Sorry for the mix up!

I'm taking loestrin-24 and its low-hormone, only 20 mcg or 1 mg. I don't know if you are familiar with it, but I only have 4 brown sugar pills instead of 7. the first brown will be April 11th. Should I just wait until then to see if I get my period? I'm not sure if I can wait that long, and its almost like I don't want to take a test before then because I'm so scared of it saying positive. I really doubt this bleeding could be implantation bleeding due to the descriptions I've read (most cases only spotting for up to 4 days but usually 1-2 days and only spotting) when I had a real flow that was about medium in heaviness. The thing that gets me however is its MOST CASES. And with my luck id be the one that has flow-like bleeding for implantation bleeding. Ugh :(

I'm not too sure if a urine test would even show a positive, it may even give you a false negative. However, I suggest you stay on the pill and use extra protection until your next menstrual cycle comes about.

You can go to your physician and ask for a blood exam- blood tests are quicker to tell you if your pregnant or not .
