Hello everyone

I need some help I am 19 years old and a single mother with no one who will give advice. I have I 7 1/2 month old boy and I am trying to get him to go to bed without a bottle. I will feed him a bottle at about 7:30 a long with some baby food then at about 8 or 8:30 I will take him to our room and lay him in his crib with some soft music but all he does is stand in his crib talk and sometimes he will scream. So I have to go get him cause my parents get upset. What do I do? I'm getting frustrated

I know this will be hard for you. You have tolet him learn to self sooth. Weather you rock him to sleep or hold his hand until he falls asleep or cry it out. There are many books on this subject. You have to find what works best for you. Nothing wrog with letting him go to bed with a bottle of water

Below is an article that deals with all aspects of bottle weaning.
It will help I am sure.

Could it be that he is not quite tired enough for sleep at that time? How much is he sleeping in the day? When is his last nap and how long does he sleep for? Sometimes trying out slightly different nap and feeding schedules can help with better night time sleeping. You might also find a bottle just before you put him down helps.

Do you have a soother?
Babies sometimes need to suck on something to calm there bellies down... it might help when you put him to bed.

With my son he never used a binkie (only the soothies from the hospital, which he stopped using after about a month) The way I got him off the bottle at bedtime (which SUCKED at first) I started giving him his last bottle before he went to bed and made sure he was full. Then I just let him go to bed even let him cry if I had to. Now he's about 18 months and he doesn't even cry for a bottle in the middle of the night or anything! AND a bonus is I only have to change his diaper one time in the middle of the night!

I weaned my son when he was a year old. We gradually decreased the amount in his bottle and replaced it with a cup. (any cup would work, my son went straight from a bottle to regular cup with a straw.) Our routine is as follows:

7:15pm bath
7:45pm small snack with mom
8:05pm drink of milk and story with dad
8:20pm into bed with blankie and stuffed toy

He usually goes right to sleep on his own, if he does fuss we just let him go, he usually only fusses for a couple minutes (usually when he is really tired) then he falls asleep.

This worked well for us, may not for you though because you said your parents are bothered when he cries, we do let my son cry it out, which can be heartbreaking and I loud to other people in the house.
