Hello all!

I have a friend who just bought her first house, and she has been trying to get her front yard spruced up. She has this beautiful tree with pink blooms on it, in front of the porch. The bed surrounding the tree was overrun with this type of ivy. She spent days and days pulling it all out.! Now, it's come back again. She is at her wits end.

She has been getting suggestions to pour gasoline on the area! NO NO NO!! I told her! She wouldn't be able to grow anything else afterwards!

Anyway, I know she'd really appreciate any and all suggestions (nix the gas).

Let me know!

Siam, I think you mean that the three is not actually a tree but a type of climbing plant with pink flowers. Right ?

Nothing comes back that fast, in like, two days. Is this the time frame you mean?

What she may have is a trumpet vine which is very difficult to get rid of and grows underground for quite a distance. But the flowers are an orangy pink colour.

Advise.

Nope, it's a tree. A full blown tree. And no, the ivy isn't coming back after 2 days. I would guess over the course of week(s)? As far as I know, there are no flowers on the ivy.

You are right about the gas, it would kill everything. Can you post a pic of the ivy, maybe I can help that way. Knowing what I am dealing with.
