View Full Version : GE Washer won't spin or drain, but does agitate

I think the name of my clothes washer is GE Profile, model number WPSQ3120T2WW. It and our dryer came with our townhouse when we bought it four years ago.

I've washed pillows before without any trouble (normal size), but this morning I washed two pillows and two sheets and then heard a loud thumping noise. Upon investigating, we found a torn, hot pillow, and now our washer won't spin or drain. (So I've got a washer full of water and soggy clothes!) I did take the pillows out, tried all the other cycles, to no avail.

If anyone could offer any info/help, I'd appreciate it so much. Not only did our washer just break, but 9 months ago our dryer broke! We've just been line drying since. We would have to get a home loan to replace them both... is there something we could do to especially fix the washer? My hubbie and I are not fix-it people, but quick to learn and have pretty good common sense. :)

The thumping sound could have been that of a belt break. You need to investigate further

Drive coupler, check my previous post for complete repair instructions. The last washer that whirlpool made with a belt was in 1993 (to esquire). Do not wash pillows, sleeping bags, or flack jackets in a conventional washer.
