HI,

I Have a few questions about filing taxes jointly,

We got married in August 2008.
My husband is staying here from 2004. I am a full time student in my second year masters degree

My questions are

A will my husband be able to file taxes jointly

B we are staying at different places he stays in Tx and I stay in OH.
How should we fill the state taxes.

C. how should I include my income(I am working as a graduate assistant at the college for 20 hours)

You can file resident tax return as Married Filing Jointly.

You will get standard deduction of $10,900 and exemptions for both of you.
You must start paying FICA taxes ib tiyr F1/OPT income.
Read about H1-B/F1 tax filing: Your U.S. Tax Return: The U.S. Visas (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/08/us-visas.html)

File jointly on the Ohio return, but declare ONLY Ohio-sourced income for tax purposes.
