My mom is trying to get temp. guardianship of my nieces and nephew. But, doesn't know where to start or what to do. I need help.

Start with your local Family Court or Children's Services department.

That is where we went and they said that we need a petition. We have no idea how to get one. My mom has a power of attorney but, they said that is not enough.

So ask for more details. There may be a preprinted form that you can get, or they may refer you to books on how to draw up such a petititon.

Go seek a family lawyer they can draw up the petition for the courts to enable your mother to gain temporary custody. :) good luck
