I saw a movie in a motel one night on HBO. At the end, there was no title. In the trailers, no title. In TV guide, no title. Sure would like to see it again but no title. So here's the description:

Black and white, looked like it was shot as well as set in the early 60's. It was New York I guess. Family lives in an apartment and runs a store. Two grown sons in family. Star of show was one of the sons. He reminded me of (Abbott and) Costello but he was maybe a little taller. The movie meanders and rambles without a plot but it's interesting. The guy meets a girl and marries her. She runs a store also. One of the stores is arts and crafts I think. So he gets married and later he joins an overweight support group. He goes to a meeting and everyone stands up and chants loudly, something like, "I'm fat - I hate fat - I hate me - " etc. Then later when he is home with the cravings, he calls his support buddy who comes over to talk him down from eating something sweet. They call for reinforcements and someone else comes over but they start describing to each other their favorite deserts and why they have such trouble resisting them; then it cuts to showing them all bloated and groaning, laying on the counters and table top, having had a huge binge. So basically, it's just a movie about families in New York in the 60's living in apartments and having a life. Seen it, anyone?

Just a thought, did you try calling the motel? The manager might remember
Which premium movies they offered if it hasn't been very long ago, and if the
Same manager still works there.
