Older model electric Maytag dryer, sounds like the bearing is going on the roller drum?

I opened the front panel and turned the drum and can see the bearing that the drum sits on, and it squeaks like nothing I've ever heard -

Is this something I can fix ? Oil the bearing? Replace?

What else do I look for?

How do I do this?

Thanks

If you are referring to the nylon roller on the right side looking at it from the front? That is a sealed bearing and its best to replace it. I included a link to a parts page that includes the part which is only $17 and isn't a major ordeal to replace. Usually calling up a local appliance parts store which are usually in the area you can call them give them the part number or model number of your dryer and tell them what you need and parts like these are usually universal between so many brands that they should have it and probably not much more considering shipping. I find most appliance parts places have what you are looking for. Just have the model number ready when you call and if you are not positive when you go in bring the old part with you. I find looking at the part diagrams ahead of time to make sure that you are both on the same page helps...
Here is a link to the parts page...

Good luck..
