I am 34 years old and have been experiencing an unusually long menstrual period. It has been almost 3 months now. At times it was heavy, now it is just a small amount of bleeding, and sometimes brown discharge. Occasionally, there are clots as well. Any advice would be appreciated. I cannot really afford to go to a doctor, but if it comes down to it, I will if need be. This is beginning to scare me. There are no cramps, pains, etc. HELP!

You will have to go to the doctor. They can run tests that we cannot do here to determine why this is happening to you.

I have been in the same situation for a very long time.

I am 19 years old and it has been this way since I was 14. My periods go away for months at a time and then pop up out of nowhere and do this.

Have you figured out what it is?

I'm planning on going to the doctor as soon as I get the nerve and I will let you know what it is so maybe you can get an idea of what might be wrong with you.

You really do need to see your doctor as J_9 said. It could be a number of possibilities... cyst, polyps, unusual changes in the endometrium, dysplasia, etc..
