Does anyone know how I can create more oxytocin in my body. Oxytocin is what triggers the muscles in the cervix to contract.
Is there anything I can eat, drink or do to make my body increase the amount of oxytocin it is producing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here's several good place for info:
increase the amount of oxytocin - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?q=increase+the+amount+of+oxytocin+&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLR_en)

Is there a particular reason you want to? Having sex and nipple stimulation will be two of the main sources.

I'm just very ready for this baby to be here. I'm at 37 weeks, and I know I should wait and she'll come when she's ready. I'd just like to help her along is all.
I've heard the nipple stimulation would have to be done all day for that to work. I guess I could try it though... and the sex has been tried, and we are continuing.
Thanks

I know full well how hard it can be the last few weeks of pregnancy, but please reconsider trying to get things going this soon. Even if your dates are exact, your baby is still maturing and the womb provides the best location for the continued brain development that is still occurring. If you happened to be not quite as far along as you believe, you could possibly be looking at a preterm baby which would decrease the advantages of being in the womb a bit longer even more.
The nipple stimulation can work well, although it is more effective once labor is underway, but as with anything else, it only works if your body is ready for it anyway.

Nipple stimulation can have very strong effects, similar to the overuse of Pitocin (synthetic oxytocin). For this reason various experts have given recommendations on its use.
Please follow the link below on techniques for proper nipple stimulation.
